Award success for innovation in low energy cooling systems 

A team from Energy 2050 has won an Innovation Award from the World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies for their work in the area of heating, cooling and dehumidification of buildings in the Middle East.

Led by Dr Ben Hughes, Reader in Energy from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the team are currently working on creating a zero energy cooled school in Abu Dhabi, the first of its kind in the Middle East region.

Other work has included the installation of innovative cooling systems at stadiums for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
